Leica recently unveiled the successor to the 2017 M10-branded rangefinder MILC frame, which is stylishly M11 he got a name. The camera was mostly developed internally, but there were some changes outside as well. For example, the USB Type-C connector for both data transfer and charging has been introduced, a removable disk has been exiled from the bottom of the chassis to remove the battery and SD card (this can now be done through a small door), and the M11 you can already choose from two versions with different covers.
The upper part of the black model is made of aluminum, while the silver version is covered with a brass cover, which in both cases is accompanied by a faux leather cover. The difference is not only in terms of design, but also in terms of weight, because while the former weighs only 530 grams, using the latter will pull our pockets to 640 grams – and then we didn’t even calculate the weight of the lens.
Behind the Leica M bayonet is a new 60-megapixel back-illuminated full-frame sensor with a dynamic range of 14 fps and a sensitivity of 64 to ISO 50,000. For a more natural color world, you can use a sensor supported by UV and infrared filters in up to 18 and 36 megapixel modes (still taking up the full area of the sensor), which is often required due to the 120 MB file size of 60 megapixel files if you don’t want a memory card too often. change. In addition to the UHS-II speed card slot, the chassis also has a built-in memory of 64 GB.
It’s also worth mentioning that it got a faster image processor called the Maestro III compared to its M11 predecessor, a 64% larger battery, and a higher resolution 2.3-megapixel Gorilla Glass 5-glass touchscreen 3-inch touchscreen. Video capabilities were, of course, omitted this time as well, as control and focusing remained manual, preserving the traditions of the series.
As usual, pricing is clearly at a premium level of $ 8,995 on the M11 price tag, but to put it bluntly, those interested can still purchase the frame from the manufacturer’s direct partners today.
