Vice President Iliyana Yotova defined the proposed composition of the official cabinet as the embodiment of the model of changes in the Constitution adopted by the previous ruling majority:
“This is what they asked for and this is what they got. From here on, of course, the responsibility rests with the nominee for prime minister, with Mr. Glavchev, with the ministers he invited. I admit, for a large part of them, I have no insight into their work and I cannot to comment, but there are definitely very good specialists, as is the case with the Minister of Finance – Mrs. Petkova, so I can only wish them success. The responsibility lies with the National Assembly, the responsibility lies with this Cabinet”.
According to Yotova, if any of the proposed composition of the official cabinet is changed by Monday, it will deepen the political crisis in Bulgaria.
“If Mr. Glavchev decides to change someone in this composition, he will have to have very serious arguments, because this will once again be a sign of the deepening political crisis. Obviously, this official cabinet, as it was conceived with the amendments to the Constitution, is a very big misunderstanding,” said the vice president, who is visiting the Montenegrin city of Cetinje.
Earlier today, Dimitar Glavchev, appointed as acting prime minister, stated that he will not make changes in the draft composition of the caretaker government announced today, despite the sharp reaction of PP-DB against Kalin Stoyanov remaining in the post of Minister of Internal Affairs.
In addition to Stoyanov, the ministers of agriculture Kiril Vatev, of transport Georgi Gvozdeikov and of education Galin Tsokov retain their positions.
Among the new faces is Ludmila Petkova, proposed for finance minister, who is a long-time director of the tax directorate in the Ministry of Finance.
