The health department is tracing additional contacts who may have been exposed to the virus.
Measles is a highly contagious viral infection that is easily spread through droplets such as air or respiratory secretions. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, fatigue, red eyes, and rash accompanied by fatigue, and it causes complications such as diarrhea, otitis media, and bronchitis. Infants under 1 year of age, pregnant women, and patients are particularly at risk.
Currently, measles is spreading rapidly around the world, with more than 40,000 cases reported, especially in Europe. Last year, the number of measles patients worldwide was estimated at approximately 300,000.
