Yorbe Vertessen completed his transfer from PSV to Union Berlin on Thursday on Deadline Day. The Belgian had been in Berlin for a long time, but PSV initially prevented a transfer. All signatures have now been signed.
The transfer of Vertessen seemed to have been completed days ago, but at the last minute PSV started to struggle. That had everything to do with Noa Lang’s injury and the lack of other options in attack.
Vertessen did not want to return to Eindhoven for a moment and so the winger took a tough stance. “We will stay in Berlin and will not go back,” his agent said two days ago in conversation with NU.nl.
PSV has now agreed to Vertessen’s departure. It is unknown whether the club is close to signing another attacker. The Eindhoven team is associated with Excelsior star Couhaib Driouech. However, PSV and Excelsior have not yet reached an agreement.

Vertessen was important as a substitute this season
Union Berlin is reportedly transferring around 4.5 million euros to PSV. That amount could increase further through bonuses. The people of Eindhoven are also said to have negotiated a resale percentage. Vertessen signs a contract in Berlin until mid-2028.
This season, Vertessen was important for PSV on several occasions as a substitute. He provided an assist in PSV’s 2-3 win at Sevilla in the Champions League. Vertessen played a total of 102 games in the PSV first team. He was accurate 18 times.
Vertessen has played for PSV since 2009, which picked him up in the youth of Westerlo. He already left Eindhoven from January 2023 to June 2023. Then he played on loan at the Belgian Union Saint-Gilloise.
