The U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA approved emergency use of the Corona 19 vaccine developed by U.S. pharmaceutical company Modena on the 18th.
The FDA said, “This urgent use approval allows the distribution of moddera vaccine to individuals 18 years of age or older,” said the FDA. “The FDA has determined that the modderna vaccine meets the prescribed criteria for approval for emergency use.” .
As a result, the United States has secured a second vaccine available to the public after the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine.
In the meantime, the United States, which has the largest number of confirmed cases and deaths in the world, has been able to accelerate its strategy to fight COVID-19 through vaccines.
The U.S. was the first country in which Modena vaccine was approved by health authorities, making the U.S. the first country to acquire two corona19 vaccines.
With this FDA approval, the US administration can begin distributing modders or vaccines.
Over the weekend, 5.9 million doses will be distributed throughout the United States, and 2.95 million people will be inoculated.
However, in order to receive the actual vaccine after distribution, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the CDC Vaccination Advisory Committee recommend the use of the vaccine, and the CDC director must accept it.
The CDC Advisory Committee has scheduled a new weekend meeting for this purpose, so the process is expected to be completed during the weekend.
Monsef Slawi, chief executive of the U.S. administration’s’High Speed Operations’ team overseeing vaccine development, said he plans to distribute 40 million doses of vaccine across the country by the end of the year, including Pfizer and Modena vaccines.
