US probe Perservation Mars lands… Exploration of traces of life

The U.S. probe Perservance, which left Earth last July, arrived safely on Mars.

Perseverance will be tasked with finding traces of ancient life that may have existed on Mars and collecting soil samples to bring to Earth.

NASA, anxiously awaiting results.

About 11 minutes later, when the news of the landing on Mars comes, cheers erupt.

“Touch-down confirmation, landing on Mars. Ready to find traces of past life.”

NASA’s fifth Mars Exploration Rover, Perseverance, has settled in the crater as an example of what is supposed to be an ancient Mars delta

This is the achievement after leaving Earth last July and flying 471 million kilometers.

NASA calls this landing 7 Minutes of Terror and ranks it the most difficult landing ever attempted on Mars.

This is because, without the control of the Earth’s control station, the Perservance itself had to withstand high temperatures comparable to the Sun’s surface and a force 10 times Earth’s gravity in the process of entering Mars’ atmosphere.

“I can no longer be proud of the results that the team members have achieved in difficult situations.”

The three-meter-long, six-wheeled Perservance stays for years and uses state-of-the-art equipment such as cameras, microphones and lasers to explore the traces of life on Mars.

It is also on a mission to collect soil and rock samples that are scheduled to be sent to Earth in 2031.

Equipment that could be the basis for manned exploration on Mars is also tested.

In particular, the power flight and oxygen extraction experiments of the 1.8kg small helicopter Ingenuity are expected to lay the foundation for future aviation exploration in the future.

“Now the amazing science begins. We look forward to the data coming from Mars.”

The Persistence Landing on Mars is a victory for the US, exhausted by the Corona 19 crisis and economic turmoil, Reuters said.
