Ministry of Food and Drug Safety completes approval for national shipment of AstraZeneca vaccine
AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine has completed the national shipment approval process, which is the final stage of quality testing by health authorities.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced today (17th) that it would approve 787,000 AstraZeneca vaccines produced by SK Bioscience, a Korean company, for shipping to the country.
Accordingly, vaccination will begin on the 26th for residents and workers under the age of 65 at nursing hospitals and nursing facilities nationwide.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety also announced that it will provide expert advice after the fourth week of this month, with the goal of obtaining approval after the first week of March for the Pfizer vaccine that has applied for product license.
