On the way home from work, a subway car on Line 1 bound for Yongsan Station to Noryangjin Station broke down and stopped abruptly on a railway bridge over the Hangang River.

According to Korail on the 15th, this situation occurred at 19:58 on the same day, and as a result, approximately 500 passengers returning from work were trapped in the vehicle for nearly two hours and suffered severe inconvenience.

At around 10:05 pm, Korail connected the broken vehicle to another train and towed it to Noryangjin Station. Passengers transferred to temporary vehicles at Noryangjin Station.

During the handling of the accident, express trains and regular trains were running on the same track, causing delays of up to 50 minutes for approximately 50 trains.

The KORAIL side said, “It appears that the delay will be phased out.”
