Cuban reggaeton artist Yomil Hidalgo continues to remember his best friend and musical partner, Daniel Muñoz ‘El Dany’, whose grave he visited this Thursday, April 18.
The urban singer went to the cemetery to leave flowers for his former duet partner, who died on July 18, 2020, during the most aggressive stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the official version, the then 31-year-old died due to cardiorespiratory arrest, although there was much speculation about alleged medical negligence, which was later reinforced by a nurse who worked at the hospital where he was treated.
The truth is that, since his departure, the singer is remembered by those close to him, including Yomil, who mentions him on special dates.
“Flowers for a brother,” Yomil wrote in his Instagram stories, where he appeared at the cemetery with a companion, leaving a vase of red roses on his friend’s grave.
Through the official networks of Yomil and El Dany, as a duo, which remain active thanks to Hidalgo, a message was also sent to Muñoz.
“A big hug to heaven, little brother, continue guiding us, there is YD forever,” it reads next to a photo in which Yomil appears with an arm over El Dany.
The memory of the reggaeton player remains present, and also his widow, Iraisel Pintueles, with whom he had his daughter Daniela, remembers him on special dates.
But social networks are not the only way in which Yomil keeps the memory of his partner alive, and Yomil confirmed the date for the release of an unreleased album with El Dany, Senseiwhich will arrive next August 26.
The album was possible thanks to the fact that they had stored recordings that were never finished being released, and it has been one of the most anticipated, since Yomil announced it since the beginning of 2023.
The enthusiasm of the duo’s fans to hear Muñoz’s voice again, and to have some more music, even posthumously, has led several to pressure Yomil with the release, since they have been waiting for more than a year.
Recently, Hidalgo released a preview, releasing one of the singles from the material, Personal, whose video already has more than 60 thousand views on YouTube.
