Yomil Hidalgo concerts canceled in Cuba without any explanation

Reggaeton player Yomil Hidalgo seems to be going through a rough patch, after some of his upcoming performances were cancelled.

Through social networks, the reggaeton singer announced the suspension of two concerts in Santiago de Cuba, with which his fans from Santiago will be eager to hear him live.

Yomil shared the announcement about his two presentations on his Instagram stories, but did not give an explanation about the causes of the cancellation.

“Calm down, God’s timing will always be perfect,” he wrote to accompany the news, implying that something was out of his control.

This is not the first time that the singer has suffered the cancellation of one of his concerts, after the same thing happened last November with two of his presentations in Matanzas.

While in a suspension the concert is “paused” until a new date is given or it is definitively cancelled, it seems that this case is a cancellation, since the interpreter did not give alternatives for new dates.

In November, with the matter of Matanzas, the urban singer complained to the authorities that make this type of arbitrary decisions, using the phrase that was in fashion at the time: “DPEPDPE”.

“I have just been suspended from the two concerts this weekend in matanzas #dpedpe (From p*nga this country, from p*nga this) if I’m calm it’s because I want to, because I really don’t feel like it, because the impudence and The lack of respect with my audience is still a lot in this country, and if they are doing it on purpose I am not going to give them the pleasure, this is another of the many lost battles, but not the war because I am going to stay put, “wrote the interpreter back then.

At the time, fans theorized that it was a general lack of resources, both logistics and power.

Considering the current situation in Cuba, with the fuel crisis and the intense heat that increases the country’s energy demand, it would not be strange if this is again the reason for the cancellation of their concerts.

On other occasions, the regime has received criticism for carrying out live events with light and sound while half the country suffers blackouts and the energy demand to face the heat waves on the Island is not met.

Despite everything, Yomil managed to perform this week without incident in the west of the Island, singing over the weekend in Pinar del Río before a fully packed auditorium.
