Yoko Ono is moving out of his New York apartment after 50 years

On December 8, 1980, a mentally ill fan shot and killed John Lennon (1940-1980) in front of the famous Dakota Building in New York. The singer and former Beatles star lived there together with his wife Yoko Ono and their son Sean Ono. Even after the death of her husband, the widow continued to live in the building – until now.

As the “Daily Mail” reports, the artist and activist has permanently moved out of her Manhattan apartment. The 90-year-old is now said to live exclusively on her farm in upstate New York. The couple bought the property together in 1978.

The farm near the village of Franklin measures 600 hectares. As “Daily Mail” further reports, the artist is not planning to sell her apartment in Manhattan.

In 1973, the artist and Lennon had bought their first of allegedly five apartment units in the traditional building. The couple’s only son, Sean Ono Lennon (47), who was born in 1975, also spent the early years of his life here.

Yoko Ono lived in the exclusive apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side for more than 50 years. A gray stone mosaic was set into the ground at the crime scene. It consists of the words “Imagine” – John’s biggest hit.

Yoko Ono only celebrated her 90th birthday on February 18 of this year. The widow of the Beatles legend has largely withdrawn from the public eye in recent years.
