Yesterday the father of the accused for the death of Héctor “Keko” Sotelo (36) was presented to testify, in the framework of the investigative hearings carried out by the shooting in front of the Sagrada Familia parish, on Roque Sáenz Peña avenue, in Posadas.
Minutes before noon, Roberto Carlos Pereyra (49) was transferred to the trial Court One, by judge Marcelo Cardozo, where it was cited for the weapons that were abducted on their property during the raids that were carried out when they were looking for his son, Yohel Pereyra (25), which at that time remained at large after the shooting in front of the religious temple.
According to sources of the case with access to the file, Roberto is not linked to the shooting that occurred on Thursday, January 27. Therefore, he testified exclusively about the finding of an arsenal in his home that led to his arrest and subsequent indictment for possession of firearms.
Thus, in his statement, the man assured that the seized weapons are collectible, are not weapons of use and that they are not fired. In this context, it is expected that today his defence counsel will request his release.
After the event that ended with Keko Sotelo badly wounded, the Police deployed on Wednesday 2 several procedures in search of the author of the shots.
On the one hand, in the investigation to locate Yohel, a home was raided on the South Access collector in the Papa Francisco neighborhood of Posadas. There were his father, Roberto Carlos, and the firearms that led to his arrest.
The uniformed officers seized a 9 mm pistol, a 45 mm pistol, two rifles, a shotgun and a compressed air gun, as well as ammunition, a telescopic sight and a stand. They also found a Toyota Hilux truck with 57 grams of marijuana.
It was then established that the 9 millimeters had been used for the shots that killed Keko.
Also, hours after the raid in Posadas, Yohel, confessed aggressor of Héctor “Keko” Sotelo, was arrested in a popular neighborhood called Niño Jesús, on provincial route 4, in the town of San Javier.
The data was recovered by the Investigations Division of the Regional Unit I of Posadas, who shared the information with the local Investigation Brigade.
Meanwhile, Keko Sotelo died in the Madariaga Hospital hours later, on Thursday at 7.30.
The man had arrived after the attack at the hospital, where he was interned with police custody since it was rebuilt through footage, testimonies and a positive paraffin that got off the Ford Ka in the middle of Roque Sáenz Peña Avenue and began shooting at those present in the square.
Non-individualized witnesses
As for the witnesses that can contribute to the cause, the investigations seek to establish contact with who would be Yohel’s partner, who took tereré with them in the square and with Keko Sotelo’s companion in the Ford Ka
Regarding the alleged girlfriend of the murderer, his whereabouts are a mystery to the family itself and to the police investigators.
In this regard, it is not ruled out that he has fled to Paraguay.
As reported by this newspaper, last Monday Yohel Pereyra was charged with homicide by use of a firearm and refrained from making a statement on the recommendation of his defense lawyer.
