Yohann Gordio has been a micro-entrepreneur for almost ten years, specializing in the installation of interior or exterior floors. He is also a subcontractor in an air conditioning company.
A total professional reconversion for this fifty-something, pioneer of the city, arrived in 1974 with his mother Josiane Vilches.
A CAP in the building
After an economic Bac, he, after seasons in the restaurant business from the age of 16, worked in the family business Le Marin Sol for more than twenty years. One day, he decided to radically change course and after having passed a CAP in construction, he created his small business which did not experience the crisis until confinement.
The two months of the first confinement saw zero activity: no supply and customers reluctant to bring craftsmen into their homes. The aid granted by the State enabled him to ensure the payment of his rent and thanks to a rather satisfactory end of the year 2019, he had a little cash while waiting for better days.
2020, a roller coaster year
As of May, construction sites were able to resume and work was intense until the end of August. But at the end of September, a drop in activity was felt and the second confinement, despite the work that can continue, was not a busy period for quotes and sites. Indeed, Yohann works a lot with restaurateurs and traders who have other things to think about than to make or redo their wooden terraces. Fortunately real estate is doing well, which nevertheless allows it to have some projects.
Yohann, optimistic by nature, the rest despite the events even if this year 2020 has been a roller coaster.
