In the heart of Toulouse, several museums sit proudly. From the Augustins, to the Abattoirs, via the Museum, visitors get lost in the discovery of works. What they don’t always know is that within these walls there is the possibility of taking part in a yoga class.
Propose an innovative course
Offering yoga classes in museums, it was Géraldine Avisse who had the idea. In 2016, she embarked on the profession. Initially, it offered lessons in a classic room.
One day, during a walk in the Pink City, she wondered how she could “offer an innovative course In the city center “. During her walk, the young woman passes in front of the Georges Labit museum. “That’s where I got the idea.”
An idea that seduces
From 2017, she embarked on the adventure and collaborated with four museums. Georges Labit is part of the lot, as is the Museum of Toulouse, the Abattoirs and the Augustins. “Initially, it went really well, people were seduced by the concept”explains the yoga teacher.
But the Covid-19 went through it and Géraldine Avisse was forced to put an end to these courses, which were unusual to say the least.
Three years after the start of this epidemic, the young woman is back. In June and July 2023, she took a few courses at the Musées des Augustins and the season officially resumes in Septemberwith several dates to choose from.
Accessible to all, even people with reduced mobility
Géraldine Avisse will meet at the Musée des Augustins on September 21 and 30, 2023 at 10 a.m. This session will be a bit special.

“I opened it to people with reduced mobility, the blind or even autistic people. The yoga will be adapted and we also welcome their companions to do the session.”

On October 8, 2023, it will be a “yoga for all”. Beginners are also welcome to test this unusual course. At the Abattoirs Museum, sessions resume from October 22 and will take place every 15 days.
A special connection
The idea is innovative, but it does not happen by chance. For Géraldine Avisse, it is welcome to mix the arts.
“There is something special when you practice yoga surrounded by works. There is an exchangethe two are complementary,” she says.
The feedback is very positive and his students tell him that this course is like “therapy”.

An attractive price
The icing on the cake: these events are an opportunity to visit museums after a yoga session, at unbeatable prices.
“Yoga is not always accessible so we organized ourselves to have low prices. That also energizes the place. Depending on the museum and the session, the price will vary between 5 and 14 euros.
In Toulouse, but not only…
Géraldine Avisse juggles between two cities. If she is not in Toulouse, she is in Montauban. On site, she gives yoga classes in The Lake Housea school.
Twice a week, she welcomes students and on Sunday, a brunch concludes the session.
