Film producer Harvey Weinstein (70) was for a number of years considered to be among Hollywood’s most powerful men, partly thanks to the film company The Weinstein Company.
In October 2017, things turned around for the 70-year-old.

Then a large number of women came forward and accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, assault and rape. The accusations against the producer were the starting point for the metoo campaign, which turned Hollywood upside down.
In recent years, several women have appeared in court to testify against the 70-year-old. Among these is actress Yevgenia Chernyshova, who was this week identified as one of his victims. She has gone by the name “Jane Doe 1” during the trial.

Before Christmas, he was found guilty of aggravated rape in a hotel room in Beverly Hills, in the early 2010s. He was this week sentenced to 16 years in prison for the rape.
The Oscar winner is already serving a sentence of 23 years in prison. He received that sentence in 2020.

Now Chernyshova is speaking out for the first time after the verdict was handed down.
– I want my life back. I have been raped. This is my story, says the Russian woman Hollywood Reporter.
Chernyshova explains, among other things, that the reason she has remained anonymous until now is because she has been ashamed.
– I thought it was a good choice to protect my children. But it was a cruel decision for myself, because I have been cut off from everyone. It wasn’t right to go through this hell alone.

Chernyshova reported the rape to the police four years after it happened, at the urging of her teenage daughter.
The actor first met the film producer ten years ago, during the Los Angeles Italia Film Festival. A short time later he raped her in a hotel room. He has always denied guilt, but has now been sentenced for the relationship.
Chernyshova says that in the time after the rape she went into a deep depression. Among other things, she developed alcohol problems and divorced her husband.
– I hated myself. I kept thinking, “There were a lot of beautiful women and stars there, and he chose you. It is you who have done something wrong”. I was depressed. I was not mentally stable. It kept clicking for me.
Met the man who raped her
Now Weinstein has been convicted of three matters involving Chernyshova, including rape.
