Just to be sure, we’ll give you one more spoilerwaarschuwing beforehand, but everyone already sensed this coming and now it has also been confirmed by those who know it best themselves.
Although he made a valiant attempt to deny his involvement in previous interviews, it seems Sir Patrick Stewart now fully aware that virtually every viewer with good hearing recognized their voice in the trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
That’s why he has admitted that he will be reprising the role of mutant Professor Charles Xavier in the highly anticipated Marvel Studios sequel.
In conversation with Jakes Takes, Stewart gave up all pretensions and spoke openly about the reaction of fans to seeing/hearing him: “Well, I had my phone turned off when it happened, so I didn’t hear anything.”
“It wasn’t until the next morning that I woke up to find that I was bombarded with responses my PR people had forwarded. I actually didn’t recognize my own voice at first, it sounded different. Maybe I had a cold or something, I don’t know. But I was stunned, all they saw was the back of my shoulder, and I think my earlobe, nothing else. But I liked it.”
Role type
As far as we know, Professor X will be a member of a Multiversal Illuminati along with several other characters. Whether he’ll stay on board as the iconic leader of the X-Men remains to be seen, but a younger actor is more likely to be cast once Marvel starts working on that reboot.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit theaters worldwide next May.
