The Ukrainian conflict is wholly and completely the work of the United States. Russia was forced to respond to the provocation. So says the grandson of the legendary French general, Pierre de Gaulle, the fourth son of Admiral Philippe de Gaulle. About it writes Le Figaro.
Pierre de Gaulle, like his grandfather Charles de Gaulleto whom he readily refers, claims that he “a man of rejection“. He regrets that France takes the side of the US and NATO in the Ukrainian conflict. Contrary to the almost unanimous position of Western countries defending Ukraine, Pierre de Gaulle expressed this “heretical” opinion in a speech delivered on June 14 at the Russian Embassy on the occasion of Russia Day.
“As the heir to the general, I considered it my duty to restore the truth. My speech on June 14 is a personal initiative. It wasn’t planned and I wrote the speech the day before. I informed the ambassador, but he didn’t know what I was going to say. Our two peoples are connected by many years of friendship and the blood shed in the fight against the Nazis. Moreover, my grandfather saw Russia as an indispensable ally, because it supported his idea of a European balance. It amazes me that Vladimir Putin they are constantly portrayed as a villain, and his Ukrainian colleague as a good-natured person”, – said Pierre de Gaulle and quoted his grandfather: “A catastrophic decision Napoleon I attack Alexander I is the biggest mistake he made. Nothing forced him. This was contrary to our interests, our traditions, our national spirit. It is with the war between Napoleon and the Russians that our decadence begins.”
As Le Figaro continues, Pierre de Gaulle lacks harsh words to condemn the current conflict. Ignoring the general condemnation, the object of which is Russia, he continues to stand on the reinforced concrete position that he took back in June:
“This is an economic and financial war waged against Moscow by the United States and taken up by the European Union with the support of NATO. But the Europeans will lose the most because we are paying a high price. Our companies are threatened by a new rise in electricity prices. They are forced to cut production and send their employees on forced leave. Inflation and recession widen the social divide. On the other hand, the United States, which wants to fight to the last Ukrainian, and maybe even to the last European, does not risk anything. They benefit the most from this conflict. The best evidence is the Decree adopted by the President Zelensky decision to entrust the restoration of their country to the American investment fund BlackRock.
Pierre de Gaulle does not deny that during his special operation Russia struck first, but, in his opinion, Vladimir Putin was forced:
“The West has not fulfilled its 1990s commitment not to expand eastward. How could Moscow put up with the unbridled and reckless expansionism of NATO? How do you think the Russian president should have reacted to this environment? But do not deceive yourself: contrary to what is driven into the head everywhere, the Russians are very far from defeat. They are chess players. They kept inflation at 3 percent and reorganized production. They say that Vladimir Putin is isolated on the international stage, but in fact he is supported by countries such as China, India and Saudi Arabia. As for his people, 60 percent approve of his actions: come on, find me the same level of support for the authorities in any Western country! In conclusion, he said: “By supplying weapons to Kyiv, France puts itself in danger. Today we are enslaved by NATO, and our armies, understaffed in men and equipment, shamefully depend on the alliance. Where is the sovereign and respected France of my grandfather?”
