The daughter of the 4th President of RI Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh or Yenny Wahid ready if appointed as cawapres and claimed to have a close relationship with one of them Anies Baswedan. However, Anies said that the name Yenny Wahid was not proposed in the coalition.
Yenny Speaks of Special Closeness with Anies
Yenny Wahid has admitted that he is ready to run as a candidate for vice president if he is appointed as one of the presidential candidates who are running frequently in the 2024 presidential election. Yenny has said that he has a special affinity with the potential candidate for president of the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan.
“As someone who has been in politics for quite a long time, you must be prepared to hold public office. Because of that, one of our goals is to hold strategic public positions so that we can make public policies that make positive changes in society,” he said. Yenny, after the event with MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo, received the Delegation of the President of the Global Council for Tolerance & Peace (GCTP) and the signing of the MoU at the MPR/DPR/DPD RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/8/2023).
“So for people who are already in the world of politics, of course, when there is momentum, when an opportunity is created, yes, they must be willing if indeed their goal is to work in the field of public policy. I also fall into that category, of course I have to be ready, I have to be willing, You have to prepare yourself. Of course you have to prepare yourself,” Yenny added, answering the question whether she was ready if she was appointed as vice presidential candidate.
Yenny admits that she is close to the three potential presidential candidates, namely former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo. Yenny said she had a special affinity for Anies.
“All are the same, all are the same (communicating). I have a special closeness with Mr. Anies, because Mr. Anies became rector I became one of the lecturers. I returned from taking my master’s in America, Mas Anies offered me at Paramadina University, he that’s the chancellor,” he said.
Yenny said she was also close to Ganjar because she was in the same community. Meanwhile with Prabowo, Yenny said that she was close because her husband had been at Gerindra.
“Then I and Mas Ganjar, for example, are close as friends, because our communities are the same. Then my husband was also at UGM. So Mas Ganjar’s friend, as well as our friend, became a playmate. Then with Pak Prabowo, my husband used to be at Gerindra,” said Yenny.
“So the name of communication is smooth with all these candidates,” he continued.
