Jakarta –
Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh or Yenny Wahid responded back to the Deputy General Secretary of the Democratic Party Jansen Sitindaon who still hope that Yenny will run as vice presidential candidate from another coalition axis, not on the axis supporting Anies Baswedan. Responding to this, Yenny said that Jansen’s statement seemed to go round and round.
“I’m dizzy Mas Jansen, read the response,” said Yenny in response to Jansen’s tweet on Twitter, seen, Sunday (13/8/2023). Yenny has allowed her upload to be quoted.
He was confused because Jansen’s statement was considered the same. Yenny likened Jansen’s reply to a devil’s barrel at the night market.
“Going around like a devil’s barrel at the night market,” he said.
As is well known, Jansen still hopes that Yenny will run for vice president from another coalition axis. This was conveyed by Jansen after his statement refusing Yenny to become Anies’ vice presidential candidate, the parties concerned responded with astonishment.
“Hehe. Oh my goodness, miss. When it comes to who you support–because these differences are related to politics and tomorrow’s election–well, it’s back to the attitude, beliefs and choices of Jenengan, Ma’am. The same is true for me, as long as this coalition’s name still bears ‘change’ ‘ according to the name on the charter signed by the 3 parties–and this is also the same and in line with the results of our party’s Rapimnas Democrat Party in 2022 which resulted in a decision on Change and Improvement as the Democratic political agenda in the 2024 Election–ideally in my opinion the candidate is not part of regime. Let it be a contrast. That is my attitude,” Jansen said in a tweet on his Twitter account as quoted, Friday (11/8/2023).
“Because for me that’s what elections are for and it is hoped that this will happen in elections. There are clear differences between candidates. If not, just change the name of this ‘change’. Because the name/’brand’ is vital, it becomes a guide for voters, it becomes a differentiator in the policies to be taken forward,” he added.
Jansen emphasized his rejection of Yenny as his attitude and political choice. That way, according to him, it doesn’t need to be debated.
“Because this is a matter of attitude, belief and political choice–not an argument about opinion or policy–actually there is no need to debate anything. I also fully appreciate the stance that Jengeng has taken, Ma’am, including the question of who to support or not to support,” he said.
Jansen then said that in the presidential election, he previously supported Ketum Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto, but now he has become part of the government. According to him, changing choices have become commonplace in politics.
“Other issues, I think I explained quite clearly in that article. Those are my political beliefs and attitudes, Ma’am. The same as my attitudes and choices in the 2019 elections and then supporting Pak Prabowo/Mas Sandi all out. Even though the results were later lost and the impact I still feel it until now–especially in the village, because the majority in my tribe/in my village are all big supporters of Pak Jokowi–it doesn’t matter to me, that’s politics, different choices must happen with all the consequences,” said Jansen.
“Now Pak Prabowo, whom I supported before, has become part of the regime and government. If this coalition of changes continues and advances until registration (does not disband halfway), then my next political choice will certainly be against him, including many of my friends who others who used to be in the same line. But the name is friend, yes, we are still friends forever, even though the political choices are now different and later maybe we will argue hard about many things in many places,” he added.
Jansen supports Yenny being able to contest the presidential election from another coalition axis.
“Finally, stay healthy, Ma’am. I also pray for and support Jenengan so that he can participate in the contest in this presidential election, especially to fill the vacant cawapres position in several coalitions that have been formed, especially in the block to continue. Because as I have also stated in the article, it’s clear, for me, with all the attributions inherent in Jenengan, Jenengan is very complete. It’s the same with my colleagues, who are Harvard alumni as well,” he said.
Previously, Yenny responded to Jansen Sitindaon’s rejection of her having the potential to become Anies Baswedan’s running mate. Yenny Wahid was surprised by Jansen who immediately rejected him.
“If there’s nothing there, I’ve rejected me. When your boss needs support, I’m angry, you know,” said Yenny Wahid in his tweet, as seen by detik.com, Thursday (10/8). Yenny Wahid’s tweet was in response to Jansen Sitindaon’s tweet of rejection.
