Yemen’s Houthis attacked two US destroyers in the Red Sea. This was announced by the representative of the Ansar Allah movement ruling in northern Yemen, Brigadier General Yahya Saria, on his page on the social network X on Tuesday, March 5.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces… carried out a military operation in which they attacked two US destroyers in the Red Sea using our naval forces, missile forces and unmanned aircraft,” he said.
Saria also recalled that attacks by the Yemeni Houthis in the Red Sea will not stop as long as representatives of the Palestinian people continue to die in the Gaza Strip.
The Houthis began striking ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November last year to protest Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. On the night of January 12, in response to their actions, the United States and Great Britain launched an attack on Houthi targets in Yemen. Washington said the strikes on movement-controlled areas of the country were of a defensive nature. It was also claimed at the time that the strikes were carried out to protect international courts.
