“Yellow” weather alert for Campania from 3pm

The Civil Protection of the Campania Regionin consideration of the evaluations of the Functional Center, has issued a notice of Yellow level weather alert valid for rain and thunderstorms from 3pm this afternoon until 6am tomorrow morning on the coastal stretch that goes from the Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula to Cilento.

In detail, the alert concerns the following areas: 3 (Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Sarno Mountains and Picentini Mountains), 5 (Tusciano and Alto Sele), 6 (Piana Sele and Alto Cilento), 7 (Tanagro), 8 ( Lower Cilento).

Storm phenomena will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapidity of evolution. They could therefore be sudden and prove intense. There is also the possibility of lightning, hail and gusts of wind.

Attention must be paid to the hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact of rain and storms on the ground are possible flooding, increase in hydrometric levels of watercourses, flow of water on road surfaces, runoff with transport of material, rockfall and landslides. Due to possible hailstorms and gusts of wind, there could also be damage to temporary structures, public green areas and roofs.
