After good weather in southern Norway at Easter, it may look like the weather will now turn for the worse. On Saturday, the meteorologists issued a yellow warning for snow drifts in the mountains in southern Norway.
Meteorologist on duty Terje Alsvik Walløe states that it will blow up to a gale and there will be a risk of snow flurries until Tuesday. He therefore has a message for Easter tourists who have not yet made it home from the cabin.
– There may be problems in the traffic, so leave now. If not, it’s a good idea to wait until tomorrow. It won’t get better later today, he warns.
The good weather is over
Southern and Eastern Norway benefited from fine and sunny weather at Easter, but that will now come to an end. A week of gray weather and rain is in store.
– It will be a big contrast to Easter, and it will be a gray and damp week. It will not rain all the time, but in several rounds throughout the week, says Walløe.

He can still assure that the precipitation in the lowlands will come as rain, and that there is no reason to fear more snow other than in the mountains in this part of the country. And even with a gray week ahead, there is hope. The following week, spring will arrive in full swing.
– The good weather will return in a week, reports Walløe.
Northern Norway is a weather winner
While southern parts of the country have to wait a week for the good weather, it looks better in northern parts of the country
– Northern Norway gets the best weather, with sun and pleasant weather. There will be a lot of nice weather in Trøndelag too, informs Walløe.
Furthermore, he states that Western Norway will be a sort of “in-between” with only a little rain.
– It will be better in Bergen than Oslo, so to speak, says Walløe.
