Yellow Vest Demonstrations Return to the Streets of Paris | Arab and international news

Yesterday, Saturday, thousands of people attended a rally in the French capital, Paris, to protest against high prices and the pension system proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The yellow vests have once again taken to the streets of the capital to protest against high inflation and the planned reform of the pension system.

And on Tuesday, the French government announced it could adopt flexibility regarding its plan to raise the retirement age to 65, as part of a controversial pension reform plan.

Djamel Bauban, a member of the yellow vests movement, said that despite the low turnout, the movement has achieved its goal of emphasizing that its voices have not disappeared and that Macron’s government should listen to their demands and take them. seriously.

Bauban added, “We went out today for the sake of all French people who are starving because of the high prices they can no longer afford,” noting that the movement will organize more demonstrations.

On the other hand, the doctors’ strike has become another problem for France, after the doctors stopped working for the second time from January 2 to January 8.

Doctors gathered in Paris on Thursday to demand better working conditions, as thousands of protesters marched to the Ministry of Health building and observed a minute’s silence for young doctors who committed suicide.

This winter, France is hit by a “triple epidemic” of corona, influenza and bronchiolitis, as the number of patients in emergency departments has increased, causing long waiting times.

And on Dec. 26, general practitioners, who are considered the second pillar of France’s healthcare system, went on strike across the country, demanding better working conditions and allowing higher fees for patients.
