The Yellow Cup for handball players in Winterthur will not take place this year either. Corona cases had occurred in both the Montenegrin team and the Portuguese team, the organizers of the four-country tournament announced on Wednesday night.
Because two teams could not arrive at the same time, it is also not an option to hold a three-country tournament. In addition to the countries mentioned and Switzerland, Ukraine will also take part in the tournament. It would have taken place from January 7th to 9th and will now be postponed to the turn of the year 2022/2023.
Last year, the organizers of the traditional tournament had postponed the 49th edition planned for the beginning of January – at that time because of the audience restrictions in view of the corona pandemic.
