Yellow Alert for Storm Jocelyn in Northern France: Wind Gusts of Up to 100km/h Expected

Storm warning for northern France. On the night of Tuesday January 23 to Wednesday January 24, storm Jocelyn will hit Nord – Pas-de-Calais. Météo France has therefore placed the two departments on yellow alert. Strong gales are expected, with gusts of up to 100km/h locally.

Up to 100km/h inland

“Storm Jocelyn should nevertheless be less strong,” assures meteorologist Guillaume Séchet, contacted by our colleagues at actu.fr. However, according to him, it could cause wind gusts of up to 100 km/h inland, in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, and undoubtedly more than 90 km/h on the Channel coast.

Given the situation, Météo France has placed the departments of Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Seine-Maritime and Somme on yellow alert for the risk of violent winds. This vigilance will start at 6 p.m. this Tuesday and will be effective until 12 p.m. Wednesday.
