Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Car dealers are busy selling cars at the end of this year. In the MPV 7 segment seater which is filled with several heroes such as the Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander and Hyundai Stargazer are also at big discounts, even up to IDR 40 million more.
South Korean manufacturer Hyundai is giving discounts for Stargazer, mainly for old units that have not been sold. This big discount aims to ensure that this car can be sold quickly.
“Now the Stargazer Old Prime has a discount of more than IDR 40 million, the discount for the New Prime is only IDR 20 million,” said a Hyundai salesperson in Jakarta to CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (28/12/23).
There are differences in features between the new and old Stargazer, including hand braking. The new model uses an electric parking brake (EPB), while the old model still has a pull hand brake.
Apart from that, from the interior side, the New Stargazer has the latest dashboard, not piano black like the last Stargazer dashboard.
The price for an old Stargazer such as the Active MT is IDR 247.2 million, the Essential IVT type is IDR 272.5 million and the newest Prime IVT type is IDR 316.2 million.
“Stargazer Essential IVT and MT have a discount of IDR 20 million, not as big as the Old one, up to IDR 42 million,” he said.
Apart from the Hyundai Stargazer, other MPV models such as the Avanza are also getting year-end discounts. The lowest type Avanza, namely 1.3 E with a price of IDR 249,800,000, is also getting a discount of tens of millions
“Matic 1.3 E cashback IDR 31 million, this is bought by many companies, especially operations, that’s why this unit is quite short,” said a Toyota salesperson in Jakarta.
This amount of cashback does not come from a combination of dealers and leasing or financing companies, but only from the dealer. Therefore, both credit and cash purchases will get the same discount. Bigger cashback leads to the higher type Avanza, namely 1.5 G CVT/
“Matic 1.5 G CVT maximum cashback is IDR 33 million,” he continued.

Not to be left behind, car dealers like Mitsubishi are starting to sell their flagship vehicles like the Xpander for tens of millions. These discounts generally target vehicles with abundant stock.
“Xpander Ultimate has a cashback discount of IDR 25 million, this is the Xpander type with the highest discount. For the Sport, Exceed or GLS type below it is still tens of millions,” said a Mitsubishi salesperson.
The discount sale reaches tens of millions to clear out car stock this year. However, if there is not too much stock, the dealer does not have the burden of overly selling the price of the vehicle.
“There aren’t many Xpander stocks, so even at the end of the year the discounts aren’t as big as other brands,” he said.
