My Dear Compatriots,

The year that is about to begin should be decisive in reinforcing the many pressing expectations in our country. It could even be one of the most important moments in our history since our independence.

Indeed, since the overthrow of Ali Bongo’s power by CTRI soldiers on August 30, 2023, our country has entered a delicate and exceptional phase characterized by a political transition.

This transition will mark two major political events in 2024. First, the inclusive national dialogue which will be held in April 2024 and then the organization of free and transparent presidential, legislative and local elections which will allow for the first time in the history of our country for the Gabonese to freely choose our different leaders.

Gabonese, Gabonese

My Dear Compatriots,

It is through this new prism that we must better understand the main challenges facing our country, in order to finally hope to sail towards happiness.

The actions carried out by the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) since August 30, seem for the moment to end on positive notes, to the great relief of many compatriots.

Also, I call on all Gabonese people to mobilize more around the policy initiated by Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Transition, Head of State, to complete the work of restoration begun of our institutions, and the country as a whole.

May this new year also be a successful crucible for the aspirations and wishes of every Gabonese man and woman.

This is an opportunity to also pay vibrant tribute to our defense and security forces who have spared no effort to guarantee the sanctity of goods and people throughout our territory, since August 30, 2023.

Finally, I hope to see the President of the CTRI, President of the Transition, Head of State associate the maximum of political good will in the consolidation of the future major project which will be: the restoration of the Electoral Code with a view to the election in particular, in the transparency and in the tranquility of the future President of the Republic, at the end of the current Transition.

Waiting for the year 2024 to be for each of you, for each of us, a year of peace and security guaranteed for all.

May this new year 2024 be for everyone, a year of success for all the projects undertaken and retained as part of the Transition timeline and the well-being of Gabon and Gabonese people.
