Maradi, 1is April (ANP) – The Education sector is one of the priorities of the Renaissance Program Act III, in two years of implementation, the Regional Directorate of National Education of Maradi (DREN), has benefited from significant achievements which have made it possible to significantly improve access and especially the quality of education, affirms the Regional Director of National Education, Mr. Mamane Hadi Issa.
With regard to school supplies, the DREN of Maradi received, all material combined, a tonnage of 927 tons which made it possible to sufficiently equip the schools of the region. A large quantity of textbooks is also made available to primary and secondary schools in the region, 98,568 textbooks for primary and 49,239 textbooks for secondary, all disciplines combined.
Faced with the resurgence of fires in schools, the President of the Republic, Mohamed Bazoum has made a commitment to rid our schools of this type of class. Over the past two years, we learn from the DREN of Maradi, 545 new classrooms have been built and equipped, 10,143 benches and 356 latrines. For the year 2023, 1180 classrooms will be built and equipped.
In the area of promoting schooling, several activities have been carried out to support social demand for education. Several students and parents are supported through the opening of the High School of Excellence in Tessaoua, the creation of youth boarding schools in Kornaka and Sae Saboua, the creation of the scientific high school in Maradi, cash transfer, mentoring and food school among others.
Finally, for the good administrative and pedagogical management of schools, teachers are trained on various topics.
