A final sprint led to victory against FCZ. In the Tourbillon in Sitten it was a lightning start that paved the way for YB to success: Wilfried Kanga needed less than six minutes to score his second and third goals of the season. As a result, Raphaël Wicky’s team, who started his career at FC Sion, took it easy. The 3-0 came in the 88th minute through Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu.
It was an understated, confident performance from YB. For the third time this season, the Bernese, who were defensively vulnerable in spring, kept a clean sheet and saved some energy for the upcoming tasks, such as the second leg in the European Cup qualifier on Thursday against the Latvians from Liepaja. The substitutions in Sitten showed how much quality YB still has up its sleeve: Among others, Loris Benito, Jean-Pierre Nsame and Meschack Elia came into play in the second half.
