Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh at the 2024 Olympics he won gold in the high jump with a result of 2 m. Before the Games, the athlete set a world record of 2.10 m.
Yaroslava explained why the results at the Olympics were not so high.
“I can say that I am in the best shape now. Yes, I jumped a world record of 2.10 m at a competition before the Olympics, but it was necessary. All the stars aligned, it was my day. I did it, and this record is now in the history of Ukraine.”
“I could jump higher at the Olympics, I was preparing for this, but after I found out that I already had gold, I settled down. We finished the task anyway,” said Maguchikh.
