The 48-year-old has been nominated as the Norwegian business community’s main shop steward after Arvid Moss, who has held the presidency since 2017. The formal election will be made by NHO’s general meeting on 8 June.
Holsether has been CEO of Yara since 2015, and the nomination committee has emphasized his broad industry experience, not least internationally with the strengthening of Yara’s global market position in recent years.
Holsether was previously CEO of SAPA and spent many years at Orkla and Elkem.
– It is an honor to be nominated as president of NHO. The business community plays a crucial role in the green transition, and I am passionate about highlighting all the small and large companies that create value for society as a whole. I believe Norway may face a green golden age after the pandemic, if we manage to work across industries, says Holsether.
