Are you taking advantage of your trip to promote the union between Éliane Romani’s Pact and Aurélie Filippetti’s Unpublished Appeal?
I support the rally and it is today around Éliane Romani, the Socialist Party, the Communist Party and the various environmental groups. But it is time for the initiative around Aurélie Filippetti to find its place in this great gathering.
A saturated A 31 and an insufficient rail axis make it difficult to travel in Lorraine, especially for frontier workers. What solution do you recommend?
I do not necessarily have the complete answer on each project, it will be up to the candidates to decide. We have long defended rail freight financed by an eco-tax that the Region must be able to apply. Its absence is a considerable waste of resources that could be invested in travel.
Nancy wants to penalize the access to town of the oldest cars, which concern the poorest. Is social justice soluble in ecology?
Social justice will go through ecology. We have always pushed for the ecological bonus to also be on used cars. And we are encouraging the development of a sector that makes it possible not to change cars but simply to change engines, which reduces consumption. Make public transport free, as the ecological mayor of Dunkirk did, families can do without one in two cars. We are supporting an economy that reduces expenses and therefore increases purchasing power.
Sincere ecologists are engaged in the municipal team of Metz marked on the right. Is ecology necessarily on the left?
That some say to themselves I will go to the camp opposite to try to “green” them, I do not blame them, but I know that effective ecology acts both on the protection of the environment, on economic innovation as well as on social protection. It is this ecology which is in Nancy and which is not necessarily in Metz.
Green mayors are regularly at the heart of controversy. Why ?
I don’t want to deny that there can sometimes be clumsiness, but they act, that’s what is important. Our green mayors did not grow up together in a promotion of the ENA. They are actors in the field, activists engaged for years in ecological and social struggles. They are not surrounded by an army of communicators.
A poll gives the RN list in Grand Est in the lead in the first round. Can environmentalists stand in the way?
Our fight does not consist of tribune effects. We fight the RN every day by addressing the feelings of abandonment and social hopelessness that fuel it. A region with four borders cannot be a region that folds in on itself. It is a European capital and it must be kept alive.
