Yankees would be focused on getting Frankie MontasSeventh Inning

Now that the most sought-after starter on the trade market this year, Luis Castillo, is no longer available after moving to the Mariners, the Yankees would have another Dominican right-hander in their sights on the exchange deadline MLB: Francellis “Frankie” Mont.

After the Mariners sent four prospects to Cincinnati for Castillo on Friday, MLB Network correspondent Jon Heyman reported that Montas had become the Bronx Bombers’ top target.

Frankie Montas is now the Yankees’ top starter target. But they are in on others, including Quintana.

Heyman noted that the Yankees are eyeing the Pirates’ Colombian left-hander, Jose Quintana, if they fail to acquire Montas. On Friday, Heyman also wrote in a column for the New York Post that the Angels’ Noah Syndergaard is on the Yankees’ “pitching list.”
