Pitching shines between New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays
Tampa Bay Rays took the first game of the series against the New York Yankees for a run in a game that moved according to the beat from the center of the diamond for both ninths.
For For the Rays, it was left-hander Blake Snell’s time to get on the mound. The 2018 AL Cy-Young lost DJ LeMahieu in the first at bat giving him a walk on four bad balls, but that’s where gravity went. Home runner Aaron Judge dominated with a chocolate as he did with his other strikeouts, cheating with the curveball. Aaron Hicks was given the same prescription and Giancarlo Stanton missed contact from a fastball.
The first meeting that the Yankees lose to a ninth from the AL East, started by Japanese Masahiro Tanaka, who looked in good shape in his second outing to the mound this season after suffering a concussion at Yankees practice in the summer.
