Chisholm, whom the Yankees acquired from the Marlins before last month’s Trade Deadline, is likely to go on the disabled list and may require surgery, manager Aaron Boone told reporters before Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.

Chisholm, 26, was injured sliding into home plate in the fifth inning of the Yankees’ 12-2 loss to the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field on Monday. He stayed in the game to play defense at third base but left to be replaced by a pinch hitter when it was his turn to bat in the seventh.
Acquired in exchange for three prospects, Chisholm has provided an instant spark for the Bombers, including becoming the first Yankee to hit seven home runs in his first 12 games with the franchise.
In 14 games with New York, Chisholm is hitting .316 (18-for-57) with one double, seven home runs and 11 RBIs.
