Yankees achieve first victory in Baltimore

The Angels. After two straight losses in Baltimore, the New York Yankees beat the Orioles 2-0 this Wednesday, driven by a two-run home run by Venezuelan Oswaldo Cabrera.

New York’s first victory in this Major League series was put on track in the top of the fifth inning, when Cabrera hit a 107-meter home run to right field at Oriole Park.

The hit allowed another score by Jose Treviño that sealed the victory for the Yankees, with which they caught the Orioles in the lead of the East Division of the American League.

In other games this Wednesday, the Milwaukee Brewers once again defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1, a day after the brawl between Dominicans Abner Uribe and José Siri.

After eliminating him at first base, Uribe (Cerveceros) on Tuesday threw a punch in the face at Siri (Rays), who tried to hit him back while players from both teams jumped from the benches to separate them.

Due to the incident, the Major Leagues applied six-game suspensions to Uribe and three to Siri on Wednesday. They also punished Dominican Freddy Peralta (Brewers) with five games, who had been expelled earlier for an intentional throw against Siri’s body, and his manager, Pat Murphy, with two for protesting that referee’s decision.

Milwaukee, which won 8-2 on Tuesday, dealt the Rays another resounding defeat thanks to the brilliant performance of fellow Dominican Willy Adames, who hit two home runs and drove in four runs.

Reliever Abner Uribe participated in the game as Milwaukee appealed its players’ suspensions.

Meanwhile, veteran Venezuelan shortstop Ehire Adrianza hit his first home run with the Los Angeles Angels in a 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
