Yambu Flower Fair 2024: Largest Flower Festival in Saudi Arabia Shatters Guinness World Records

Yambu: This year’s Yambu Flower Fair, which is the largest flower fair in Saudi Arabia, has come to an end with the amazing color and fragrance left in the memories. The 14th Mela started on February 15 and was enjoyed by locals and foreigners alike. The fair, which was earlier announced to end on March 9, was extended by the organizers Yambu Royal Commission Authority until April 30 due to the unprecedented number of visitors. The fair, which was stopped due to the Covid crisis, came back this year after four years with innovative and exciting programs.

In the first stage, visitors were allowed to enter the fair from 5 pm to 11 pm by getting a ticket worth 11.50 Saudi riyals. At the last stage, the cost of the tickets was set at 30 Saudi Riyals by the authorities, so the number of visitors decreased a little. On Tuesday, the last day, visitors were offered free entry, so local and local visitors came. Special colorful sights and cultural programs have been specially prepared for the visitors. The organizers estimate that more than one and a half million visitors from different regions of Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries came to see the Yambu ‘Flower and Garden Festival’ which was held for two and a half months. . A diverse flower festival was held at Al Munasabat Park in the Royal Commission area on the Yambu-Jeddah highway.

The Yambu Flower Festival, which has twice won the Guinness World Record for the largest flower carpet, has gained global attention by winning three more Guinness Records this year. One of them was the biggest word ‘Salman’ written in flowers. The flower word ‘Salman’, which refers to the name of the Saudi ruler, is considered to be the largest flower word in the world. 19,474 red roses were used to create this big word. This year’s flower festival also earned the distinction of being the world’s largest flower basket. 1,27,224 natural petunia flowers in white and red were used for this. The fair also has the world’s largest glittering garden. Its flowers are more than 2,50,000. Third among the achievements is the largest space rocket made of reusable (recycled) materials. This spaceship, made from recycled materials, is one of the special achievements of the Flower Festival 2024. It shows the potential and importance of a recycling system in protecting the environment.

The visitors were delighted with the wonderful sight of different flowers. Bird and butterfly parks, technology and artificial intelligence corner, traffic safety village, recycling garden, children’s park, entertainment centers, food courts and around 150 stalls have been prepared to organize marketing and exhibition in Pushpananagari. Cultural programs and art exhibitions organized in the evening were a visual sight in the city, which was enthralled with dazzling laser lights. The urban decoration prepared by the Irrigation and Landscaping Department of the Royal Commission, the safety systems of the Safety and Security Department of the Yambu Royal Commission and the sanitary service under the supervision of the Department of Sanitation caught the attention of the visitors more than the year before. Both local and foreign visitors wait every year to witness this spring festival in the Red Sea coast city of Yambu with their families to escape the misery of the refugees. Various groups of Malayalis, social and cultural groups, leisure travel groups and families have come to see the sea of ​​flowers this year.
