Yamanoue Hotel in Tokyo Announces Temporary Closure for Building Renovation

Yamanoue Hotel in Kanda Surugadai, Tokyo announced on the 23rd that it will be closed for the time being from February 13, 2024. The purpose is to consider ways to deal with the aging of the building, which has been completed for 86 years.

The period of closure has not yet been determined and will be announced as soon as it is determined. The directly managed stores “Tempura Yamanoue Ginza”, “Tempura Yamanoue Roppongi”, “Tempura Yamanoue Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store”, and “Restaurant Hill Top Juntendo Clinic” will continue to operate.

The Yamanoue Hotel was used as a regular lodging by writers such as Yasunari Kawabata, Yukio Mishima, and Shotaro Ikenami. Additionally, since it is close to Jimbocho, where many publishing companies are located, it is known that writers have stayed there to write at Kandume since its founding. The location is 1-1 Kanda Surugadai, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. There are 35 guest rooms.
