Jakarta –
Yamaha Soul GT was injected dead by PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM). This model has also disappeared from the Yamaha Indonesia website. The question is, will Yamaha replace Soul GT with a new model or is it enough with the current automatic line up?
As explained by the Public Relations, YRA & Community YIMM Manager, Antonius Widiantoro, Yamaha’s decision to stop the production of Soul GT was due to changing consumer needs. As a manufacturer, Yamaha continues to strive to release automatic products that suit consumer interests.
“Yes. Soul GT is currently no longer in production,” said Anton via text message to detikOto, Thursday (30/6/2022).
“Due to product innovation and development, design, and today’s technology is developing fast. Consumer needs are constantly changing. To meet the needs and demands of these consumers, we try to fulfill the products that we market today. So now we focus on continuing to market the 125th generation of products and answer consumer needs in terms of driving,” continued Anton.
“That’s why in the product line up (matic) 125, Yamaha has a variety of products that adapt to the diverse character of consumers. Because currently consumer needs for motorcycles are not just transportation, but also represent their lifestyle,” he said again.
When asked whether Yamaha was preparing a new model to replace the Soul GT, Anton signaled that Yamaha would not produce a replacement for the Soul GT and focus on marketing the current 125 cc automatic line, which has quite a variety of models.
“We have a fairly complete line-up of 125 products at this time. And it is hoped that it can meet and answer the needs of today’s dynamic and growing consumers,” said Anton.
On the official website, it is noted that Yamaha still has several mainstays in the 125 matic class, such as the Fazzio Hybrid Connected, Gear 125, Freego, X-Ride, Mio M3, Fino, Mio S, and Mio Z.
