Yamaha Boss Crying Seeing Toprak World Champion at Mandalika Circuit

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Pata Yamaha boss Paul Denning cries reminiscing about success Toprak Razgatlioglu become WSBK world champion in Mandalika Circuit.

Denning admitted that his team did not indulge in excessive optimism before facing the final series, namely WSBK Indonesia at the Mandalika Circuit.

“I don’t feel that the title race is over. Go 30 points when there are still 62 points up for grabs, then drop to 50 [karena superpole race batal], I don’t think it’s done at all.”

“There are many things that can make things right, but there are many things that can also go wrong in the next race. Besides that, another reason we don’t feel finished is we face Jonathan Rea who has won six titles,” said Denning as quoted from Bike Sports News.

With the tension engulfing the Pata Yamaha team, Denning vented the victory with emotion.

“In terms of emotion, I honestly cried when Toprak crossed the finish line,” said Denning.

Denning then did not forget to give praise to Toprak who performed brilliantly throughout the 2021 WSBK season. Toprak recorded 13 wins and a total of 29 podiums.

“We made it difficult for him in some races. He might even make one mistake. But in terms of points, we never finish without points because of driver mistakes. [Toprak].”

“He is a world champion and he deserves it, because he won 13 races,” said Denning.
