[아시아경제 배경환 기자] Earlier this month, a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was selected as a suspect in the shooting and death of a graduate student at Yale University in Connecticut, USA.

According to foreign media on the 28th, the New Haven Police in Connecticut received a warrant of arrest on charges of murder for King Suan Pan, a graduate student studying artificial intelligence (AI) at MIT.

On the 6th, Pan is charged with shooting and killing Kevin Chang, a graduate student at Yale University who was driving a car in New Haven on the 6th, theft of a car, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Jang was found dead after being shot by multiple shots about 1.6 km from Yale University’s main campus.

Jang was enrolled in a master’s program at Yale University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies, and was only a week after he got engaged to his girlfriend Zion Perry, who graduated from MIT last year.

The New Haven Police have identified Pan as a strong suspect and have been investigating and tracking whereabouts. Pan is still on the run. It is known that Pan was near the scene of the incident when Chang died.
