Of course it’s fun to see how the Yakuza franchise, which is currently more comfortably known as “Like a Dragon”, continues to grow and develop regardless of the departure of the leader who now stands under the banner of NetEase Games. Despite the criticism from some fans who want Kazuma Kiryu’s figure to really rest forever, at least two projects that are currently being prepared have managed to attract public attention. Besides Like a Dragon Gaiden, we still have Yakuza 8 aka Like A Dragon 8 which is still mysterious.
Taking advantage of the Xbox Game Showcase 2023 event that took place this morning, SEGA came up with a surprise video starring the character – Ichiban Kasuga who looks stranded and naked on an American beach. Confused about what’s going on, this trailer doesn’t really show off the gameplay side at all. But at least for the western version, Like a Dragon 8 is confirmed to officially carry the name “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth”. SEGA only ensures that this new series will function as a direct sequel to the previous series – Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth itself is planned to be released in early 2024, still without a definite date, for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and of course – PC. Interesting look?
