Rei Ozawa’s uniform number ranges from “70” to “45”
Yakult announced on the 14th that pitcher Yasunobu Okugawa’s uniform number will be changed from “11” to “18”. Pitcher Rei Ozawa will also change his uniform number from “70” to “45”.
Okugawa led the team last season with 9 wins, contributing to the league and best in Japan. This season, he started the game against the Giants on March 29, but went off with 1 goal in 4 innings. This was the only game he pitched.
Yakult number 18 has been worn by Akimitsu Ito and Shugo Fujii, Toshihiro Sugiura (now Nippon-Ham) since 2014 and Shigeki Terashima since 2017.
