Yakubu Aiyegbeni Criticizes Mohamed Salah as “Not World Class”: Former Everton Striker Sparks Controversy

Nigerian international striker and former Everton player, Yakubu Aigbeni, criticized Egyptian Mohamed Salah, describing the Liverpool star as “not world class.”

In an interview with the Soccer Net sports website, in response to a question about his choice of the best African players in the English Premier League, who have shown the world of football a set of wonderful skills that they possess, the former Leicester striker Ayegbeni confirmed that Mohamed Salah is not a world-class player.

Aygbeni explained that Salah “is not good at handling the ball, and most of his goals are the result of luck.”

The former Reading striker chose the greatest African players in the English Premier League: Okocha, Drogba, Kano, Yaya Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor and Sadio Mane.

Ayegbeni, 41 years old, scored 95 goals in the English Premier League during his playing days in the Premier League, where he wore the shirt of Liverpool’s arch rival, Everton, and also played for Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Reading.

On the other hand, Salah scored 205 goals with Liverpool in 333 matches he played with the English club.
