Yahya and Yaqut’s membership in the PKB will be automatically terminated

Deputy Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Hanif Dhakiri announced membership Yahya Cholil StaqufYaqut Cholil Qumas and Lukman Edy will be automatically eliminated in PKB.

Hanif also confirmed that the General Chairman of PBNU, the Minister of Religion and the former General Secretary of PKB were not invited to the PKB Congress in Bali next August 24-25.

“Mr. Effendy Choirie was definitely not invited because he was an administrator of another party. The membership of Mr. Yahya, Mr. Lukman and Mr. Yaqut was automatically terminated. They have been campaigning for other parties and even attacking and damaging the honor of the party in public,” said Hanif in his statement, Tuesday (20/8).

Hanif explained that only Congress participants and invited guests were allowed to enter the PKB Congress area in Bali. Outside of that, no entry is allowed.

Hanif also explained that these figures were not invited to the PKB Congress because they were campaigning for other parties in the elections or they attacked him and damaged the party’s honor. He thought that these figures were rude to the party and even harmed the party.

“PKB was successful in the last election by winning seats in the legislature at various levels. Well, they are not supporting us and even attacking us (PKB) in the public arena,” he said.

“So if only they are stable in PKB, want to work together to grow PKB, of course yes and we will definitely invite them,” he said.

The participants in the PKB Congress were DPP administrators, DPW representatives, DPC representatives, directors and members of the DPR RI FPKB, as well as Chairmen of Autonomous Organizations and middle level institutions.

In addition, invited guests will also be present at the invitation of DPP PKB as the organizer of the conference. This includes state leaders and political party leaders.

The relationship between PKB and PBNU has become more heated recently. PBNU had summoned elites and former administrators of PKB to question the relationship between PKB and PBNU.

In fact, PBNU recently held a meeting with kiai at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang.

At the forum, the kiai agreed to submit ‘Mandate Tebuireng’ to Rais Aam PBNU to develop the PKB. Gus Yahya has also gathered PWNU and PCNU leaders across Indonesia.
