Yahsat Expands Presence in China for International Market Growth and Diversification

Yahsat, the satellite communications company, the provider of satellite solutions in the UAE, revealed its plans to expand its presence in China, as part of its strategy to grow and diversify its international markets, led by China and the Asia-Pacific region.

This announcement came against the background of holding a series of meetings in the Chinese capital, Beijing, between the commercial affairs team of the “Yahsat” company led by Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Commercial Officer for Commercial Affairs, and Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the UAE Ambassador to China, amid great interest from the diplomatic mission. The Emirati company in Beijing enabled the expansion of Emirati companies in the active Chinese market.

Yahsat also held a meeting with Thuraya’s partners, including Zhongyou Century Communications Technology Co., Ltd., to explore business opportunities in strategically important sectors such as government sectors, with a special focus on search and rescue, as well as commercial projects.

Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China, said: “The partnership between Yahsat and China has enormous potential for growth and mutual cooperation, and the UAE Embassy is committed to providing full support to Emirati companies, including Yahsat, to expand in China, in addition to strengthening relations economic cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of Yahsat Group, said: “We are proud of Yahsat’s expansion in China as part of our strategy to diversify geographically and enter new sectors. Our strategic partnership with China is expected to provide a strong boost to our company in the global market. The Chinese Embassy officials, coupled with the great support of His Excellency the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China for our plans, have given us the impetus to continue driving growth not only in China but also throughout the Asia Pacific region.”

During the visit, the latest mobile communications technologies and innovative and modern solutions were reviewed, confirming the company’s long-term plans and commitment to meeting the growing needs of current and potential customers in various sectors in the Republic of China. Thuraya’s best-selling service, MarineStar, is expected to achieve significant milestones in China’s maritime sector, which in turn will revolutionize communications for marine operators.

In addition to marine solutions, Thuraya also provides terrestrial broadband connectivity stations in China to meet the communication needs of prominent customers in the country. The company’s commitment to providing reliable, high-speed connectivity solutions has been recognized and trusted by prominent companies in various sectors.

The recent visit by two Chinese embassy officials to the company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi came to confirm the growing relations between Yahsat and China, which reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its commercial operations in various Chinese regions. The two Chinese diplomats also praised Yahsat’s role in locating and rescuing Chinese fishermen lost at sea, thanks to satellite-supported communication solutions.

It is worth noting that Yahsat gained its fame and distinction during only 16 years as one of the largest commercial satellite and satellite communications companies in the Middle East, covering more than 150 countries around the world. The Asia-Pacific region is among the company’s most prominent international markets thanks to its service excellence, led by Thuraya’s award-winning MarineStar service. Yahsat, through its deployment of advanced satellite technologies with reasonable cost and comprehensive coverage, has played an important role in accelerating the growth and development of the countries in which it operates, and has quickly established itself as a reliable enabler of critical infrastructure in various countries.
