B A S E S
1.- Three autonomous competitions are convened: poetry, narrative and special prize gender equality.
It is not mandatory to present everyone. The awards are also independent.The same work cannot be submitted to diffrent competitions.
2.- Writers and writers of any nationality may participate, from 16 years of age and who have not won an award in the last two editions of this contest, unless they are presented to a different modality from the winner.
3.- The works presented will be original and unpublished, writen in Spanish and not previously awarded in any other literary contest.
4.- The works will be presented only in PDF digital format, with Times New Roman letter, size 12, 1.5 interlinear separation, with normal margins in the folio (Sup. And Inf. 2.5cm. Izq. And Dcho. 3cm.). And they will have the following characteristics:
a) Narrative modality: The composition will have a minimum extension of 5 folios and maximum of 10 folios.
b) Modality Poetry: It must be a poem, not a poems, with cohesion about its theme. The minimum extension 18 verses and maximum 100 verses.
5.- The works will be presented exclusively by telematics to the following email address This email address is being protected against spam robots. You need to have enabled JavaScript to see it.
In the email sent,it must indicate as a matter “Cantillana City Contest modality (narrative,poetry or gender equality”.
The mail will carry 2 files:
-The first attached file, will be called with the title of the work presented and pseudonym. The file must be recorded on a cover indicated: title (composition), modality (narrative, poetry or gender equality) and pseudonym (of the author) .A continuation of the cover, the work. The text contained in this file will not sign.
-The second attached file, must be titled Plica, plus the chosen pseudonym and will include a copy scanned on both sides of the author’s ID/Oh personal data: name, surname, postal address, email, telephone, title of the work presented, modality and modality and category to which it participates.
Afterward, the winning works, after notice prior to the author, must be forwarded in Word format.
6.- Each author may present a single poem, for the poetry contest, a short story for the narrative. And a poem or a short story if you wont to participate in the “Special Prize Equality of Gender”.
7.- The theme and composition of the poem and the short story will be free. Exception: The special prize whose issue will be gender equality.
8.- The deadline for presenting the works will be from January 22, 2025 to april 7, 2025.
9.- The jury ruling will take place on Friday, may 30, 2,025 at the House of Culture, will be unappealable and may be declared deserted.
10.-The association will destroy the unward-winning originals after knowing the jury’s ruling.

writer and poet with more than 16 years old are invited to participate in the XXX Poetry and narrative contest “ciudad de catillana”, ongaized by the cultural association of women ”Choir Azahar”. With a total prize pool of € 1.350, the contest aims to promote literature among writers worldwide, providing a platform for the creation of original and unpublished works in Spanish.
“the competition features three autonomous categories: poetry, narrative, and a special prize focusing on gender equality. Participants can submit their works to any or all of the calls, but the same work cannot be submitted across multiple categories,” explains the organisers.
With a primary focus on originality and unpublished content, the competition sets strict guidelines for entry.
