Follow the Song and Dance Festival!
From June 30 to July 9, public media will broadcast the proceedings of the XXVII General Latvian Song and XVII Dance Festival.
All content about the Song and Dance Festival will converge on the public media portal LSM, where live broadcasts of the Song and Dance Festival will be shown. A holiday program calendar and a wide range of original content are available on the portal.
“Each nation living in Latvia creates our strength in the context of the world. The traditions characteristic of each nation are like a thread in the sun’s canvas on which we paint our blooming land. Only in a thread as a connection between each of us, phenomena and processes today are we able to paint a land of Latvia whose true brightness arises in the fellowship of peoples,” says the description of the concert. “During the concert, in the thread of songs, we will create a connection of artistic collectives of different peoples as a unified cultural landscape of Latvia. Let one big and glorious painting flourish in the canvas of the songs of the sun!”
The concert featured folklore groups, authentic singing, folk song, vocal, folklore and instrumental ensembles, folk dance groups and ensembles, a folk instrument orchestra, as well as a choir and individual performers representing Slavic, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Belarusian, Cossack, Bulgarian, Jewish, Roma, German and Lithuanian nationalities.

The XXVII Latvian Song and XVII Dance Festival will be held in Riga from June 30 to July 9, 2023. The festival is organized by the Latvian National Culture Center, which is a state institution subordinate to the Ministry of Culture.
