The president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, announced the launch of a new line of aid for SMEs with which to “promote business projects of a certain magnitude” due to the volume of investment or the jobs they will create. “€30 million will be allocated until 2026 with the aim of benefiting twenty initiatives,” said the head of the Galician Government.
The purpose of this new program “is to continue boosting the economy and giving a first push to this type of initiatives,” according to the president.
The call, as Rueda explained, includes two fields of action. On the one hand, those projects that have an investment “of between 800,000 and 10,000,000 euros” in tangible and intangible fixed assets, civil works, equipment, computer applications or acquisition of assets of an establishment will be addressed.
On the other hand, business initiatives with lower investment will be supported, “but that guarantee the creation of 25 indefinite full-time jobs.”
Contributions cover up to 35% of eligible investments or salary costs for up to 24 months of all new hires, in the case of small companies, and 25% in initiatives promoted by medium-sized companies.
The line, aimed at SMEs due to their special capacity to generate jobs, thus seeks to facilitate the promotion of projects to create new establishments, expand the capacity of existing ones and diversify or change production processes.
The call, in non-competitive competition, will keep the application submission period open from January 22 to September 30, 2024.
With this innovative program, the Xunta aims to promote the revitalization of economic activity in Galicia and promote the maintenance and creation of employment, through the development and improvement of existing companies, and with the creation and launch of new business initiatives. .
