Movies, music, art, writing and now board games.at least ifHasbroI got my wish and made it with an Italian company called Xplored. They created a board game platform that combines digital and physical aspects into a seamless experience.
For those who regularly play board games, it’s no surprise that companion apps are becoming more common. Examples of this include the popular Descent: Legends of the Dark, which used digital game masters in its latest release, with fairly successful results. Now Hasbro wants to go a step further, with even more interactive possibilities. In a joint press release, they said the following:
“As a global leader in tabletop gaming, we envision a future where technology is seamlessly integrated into the simulated gaming experience, and partnering with Xplored allows us to offer our players and fans innovative gameplay that provides unlimited digital extensions to physical games , seamless onboarding, and powerful AI-powered game mechanics.
Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering are both talking names about AI integration, and the possibilities are absolutely exciting.
